This little brass statuette portrays Kali Durga in the full duality of her role in Hindu culture. Both a destroyer and the goddess of time and change, she is shown here almost as a goddess of fertility, hinting at the way destruction is necessary for change and new growth. With her many arms carrying the weapons for which she is known, she has one foot upon the her consort, Shiva; a scene well known in the most famous legend of Kali, where after defeating the demon that had undone Shiva she danced upon the corpses of the fallen. Measuring approximately 3" high, this little statue is a great addition to your altar or home, helping you to pay homage to this wondrous goddess.
